Surfrider's Voice Will Be Heard by City of Lake Worth

Tomorrow Evening, Tuesday @ 6pm, The Palm Beach Chapter & Regional Manager are on the agenda to make a presentation requesting the City of Lake Worth consider becoming an intervener in the current lawsuit against the Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) proposed permit to Save Lake Worth Public Beach.

Location: Lake Worth City Hall
7 N. Dixie Highway, Lake Worth, FL 33460

Time: 6pm

The Chapter believes that in order for the City to adequately protect itself and its residents, it is prudent to intervene and ensure its community's needs and interests are protected and the Town and DEP respects their previous vote. As many of us know from the meeting over a year ago, the Town was not honest with the City regarding the dune material compatibility and the Commission smartly vote 5-0 not to accept their last minute offer.

Again, the Town nor DEP has reached out to the City on this matter to ensure neighborly respect. The Town of Palm Beach has now become an intervener on behalf of DEP in order to ensure they get their project permit.

While this is not a hearing that the public to comment directly in. We hope to see as many of you as possible to show your support of this request as we move closer to the Aug 25th court date.
