Bring a wetsuit it's chilly. You may want booties too. My buddy went and said the water was REALLY COLD.

Chicama is longest left point on the planet.

EVERYONE I know says it is super sketchy up there with bandits and ****. Take a well armed local with you is what I've heard. Not to scare you but that's the word on the street.

Also you cannot ride a single wave all the way down the point, the waves play out before they reach the end. You catch like 3 or 4 waves and walk back up the point....

40th I assume you read all the spot comments on wannasurf. If not go read them all of them and heed the advice. Just cuz you got a half dozen people or so does not make you invulnerable. It ain't the ole US of A where you can call the ccps, the place is on the edge of a desert and that is where most of the problems are... Be very mindful of everything and everyone....

Dunno how much travelling experience you have but I'm sure it'll be educational.

The Indians won't be your biggest concern, they would actually be your best chance. Stay off the "Shining Path" and do your cultural research before you land. Represent Surf XTC

its chill, not to worried. more concerned about the cold water and ball shrinkage then anything else. surfxtc is already represented on my surfboard and car plus I have turned so many people on this site I should get an award!

I was talking to this bloke who had a friend........that had a friend, who knew someone that went, (haha) anyway. I have heard stories of some killer breaks that actually have fragmented and complete human skulls on the beach, Native burial site or killing field, who knows but when you are making your trek down to the waters edge and hear breaking bones then look down to see human skulls.............oh man. That would be a wake the @*&$ up moment, get yo head on straight and then have the best session of your life. Talk about vibe!

I hope it is chill for your sake....leave all your attitude and ego in the airport is my best advice...from your posting it sounds like you may need to check both.
I know Peruvians who won't even go up there.

Be anxious to hear how it all unfolds

i have a friend that has a beach house there. I'm going during our summer 07 and their winter... not sure about surfing if the water is super cold as you say!
