Hey y'all,

right after thanksgiving i'm gonna be moving to Fl from Chicago! i'm driving down the coast, and i'm gonna be hitting up as many breaks as i can before i get to Miami. So i was wondering if anyone can clue me in on what conditions are like in early december. water temps, what breaks are usually pumping, what to expect? any info would be great!

thanks a lot,

steve

Hello Steve,

I moved down from Chesterton, In where the Dunes State Park is (1 hour South of Chitown). Conditions are great in December as far as that is when we get the most consistent waves with cold fronts running across to the north. That time of year, it can be cold from St. Augustine north, chilly from there to Cocoa, but just no wetsuit required further south. Sometimes the waves are really choppy, but it's better than nothing.

Just check the travel section of surfline for spots...

Where did you surf prior? Are you a Great Lakes surfer?

Good luck man, Steve (yep, my name too)

after that hit up Lake worth pier...More inviting locals. LMAO

Seriusly....Get on A1A and look for white water. If you see white water there is a sand bar possibly working. As for the more well publicized spots.....lots of info abounds on the internet, seek and ye shall find, my son!
