Hello All - I have been somewhat of a voyeur on this site for a couple of years. I dig the vibe and the info I find here, just have never been much for posting to message boards.
Now, however, I have a need to post and solicit some recommendations. I got out of the water this evening and noticed a small ding in my board. It is quite small but there are definitley some cracks. This is my first real board since I started a couple of years ago on a Bic and therefore my first damage.
Any suggestions on where to get it repaired? I am in West Palm and IWS and Coastal are the closest shops to me. I also pass Nomad every day on the way to work.
I will appreciate the local knowledge!

welcome - if it is a small ding then fix it yourself. go to a surf shop and pick up some Ding All - that stuff even comes with instructions.

Thanks. I thought there may be repair kits available and was sure I would get some good advice from this board. So tonight I will make my first repair attempt :D

Make sure you buy the right fiberglass resin. Go to Glue Products in WPB (look in the phone book) and you can get it and fiberglass there. If it's just a little hole get the resin and some cabosil and make a paste to fill the hole. You can get a good amount there (smallest bottle is a quart I think) but you'll pay less than for a "kit" at a shop...

don't forget the sandpaper...for small holes I also use tape, and cellophane, works great.

I appreciate the tips. I went with the Ding All kit. Certainly not the most for your money but it was only 10 bucks and for a rookie like me, the pictures and instructions were invaluable. Definitely not a pro repair but it is water tight.

I have a alternative as well. I used krazyglue or clear nail polish for simple small dings cracks etc I think for the most part any epoxy resin will do the job as long as your board is not water logged or severe.
