anyone locally having much luck? went out last weekend to 14th st bridge with a friend who said he saw a bunch of snook hanging out around the pillings, saw a couple but none took the bait, we cast needed live finger mullet with no luck.

Can someone give me a tip or location maybe by private message if your afraid a bunch of people will start fishing there. Im just one guy looking for some snook. just tired of driving out and spending money on rigs and time effort etc and not catching any. Somone told me to try spanish river but I dont know where to fish up there.

whats up waterman, the snook bite has been sorry lately.. if youve got some gas $ and wanna gamble I hear that there is some snook and huge tarpon wrecking mullet schools on the beach in jensen... sort of a long shot though unless youve got a local up there..

you're def. doing the write thing with the mullet on the bridges, I would keep trying that. The boynton inlet has been weak, handful of shorts here and there, thats about it. Im probably gonna fish for snook 2 or 3 more times then switch gears to all surfing around Nov. just cause the bite gets so sorry

Hey, if you arent doing anything tomorrow between 3-5pm go to the boynton inlet docks and look under the dock with the boat "Sojourn" Dont even try to catch what you see, you will not land it. ;)

THanks potion, after talking to another friend that works out of hillsborough, he said the fish havnt been there either much lately. Oh well Im gonna still try a couple places with currents and hope for the best.

What is under that dock? sounds like the filets are attracting either a shark or one hell of a tarpon, get pics man!

Well, same holds true for me in Boca/Deerfield area. Slow fishing. Catching a few on the beach though. Mostly shorts. Waterman,keep looking on the beach for mullet. Use those or you can throw artificials at them, occasionaly you will fool one. :cool: Oh, and as for the beast under the dock, my guess is a Jewfish.

I'd bet on a tarpon.

On the other hand the blues have been biting like crazy off of Delray Beach. My neighbor went the other night and said all he did for two hours was cast, reel one in, cast again. Had a ball just hookin' em up non stop.

Im really not that experianced with saltwater, been doing fresh all my life. Could you guys refer some rig;s for different breeds, Types of lures to try out. or anything else you feel would help.

I went to the inlet today with a little gotcha plug.. I used the chrome/red my boy used chrome/chartreuse. We filled this Haitian dudes bucket w/jack crevalles for him fishing over on the N side parking lot seawall. You could see trillions of jacks cruising by every 5 minutes. Those gotchas are an awesome daytime lure... just rig them up with a trace of wire. We went down on the jetty and jumped a couple ladyfish and tugged on some bigger blue runners.

If you go to the dock I was telling you about you will see about 3,000 snook. The only tough thing is that #1 you arent allowed to fish there and #2 there is barnacle encrusted pilings every 2 feet, youll get smoked. Still cool to check out the jumbos. Also, if you go look under the sherrifs boat you might see some big-dog sheepshead.

Anyways, you cant really miss w/the gotcha plug. Its a catch-all lure. Live bait you just gotta feel em out. 1st try freelining them then try a weight then switch baits and run it back.

fished spanish river rd. last night 2am- 5am bait was THICK under the bridge bunch of snook firing at mullet running threw but couldnt get a bite to save my life, free lining, lures, weighted, jigg headed, weighted free line. just about anything i could think of to get them to hit my bait and nothing, oh well another day.

We're gonna run it for about an hour along the intercoastal, then if alls well try to land some fish. Let you know if we bagged anything. (engine probs.... FYI, find a friend who owns a boat....LOL)

Hey remember a while ago i had an offer if anyone wants to tag along let me know. It's either fishing or surfing onthe weekends 90 o/o of the time.
I always feel bad for the guys on the jettties fishing from there. As long as you don't kill us, you have your own gear, and you know something about fishing your in. Gotta wash down after and bring beer and or gas money. But cool rule on the boat is that all fish caught gets split equally.
And i don't eat fish so that's -1 cut.

Hope i don't rain on your parade, but it's a sea fox. all we could afford at the time. We've made some updates. a bud of mine from Merrits did the lighting, and Joe has bottle openers attached all over the boat...lol.

Seriously though, as long as you are not a psyco and try to chop us up..(FYI, i'm the chummer, so i know how to use a sharp knife) i don't see why we couldn't pick up a stray (no offence).

We go out at Boca inlet. Delray has that creepy bum guy that won't leave you alone. Made the mistake of giving him some cash and some corona trying to be nice...now he attacks when he sees us.

I tried to check up on you. You seem ok, but i ran across something where you had a beef with Jaco. I have a thing with him. Friends, but i really hope you are not on his sh*t list.

Aside from that, next weekend will prob. be the time we bring you along. Joe was kinda pissed that i invited a stranger, but as long as a few people here can vouch for you, then i'll change his mind. The power of a womans body....LOL.

Also i scanned through your stuff. Seems like you fish fresh water alot. No need to worry. We have a ton of tackle for salt water. I just pray you don't get seasick. Bonine or not, your as* will be waving goodbye from the inlet.

PS, we'll prob. have a few good men. A bud Sean (Irish dude) spears big time, but is really good when the lines are peeling off all at once. Also got a bud Dave works at Marina one, been around the water forever, just as good if not better. Is a captain, does alot of deliveries.

Don't mean to freak you out, just wanted you to know that there will be people who know what they are doing and most importantly (on a small personally owned boat) are VERY cool.

ok i now have a full understanding of this situation.

Have dbl. batteries. Boat was in different hands trying to be repaired. Come to find out they didn't give a s*it if the powers on or off the WHOLE time they have your boat....Even if it is a freind of a friend...

Anyway, the other guy that was going out w/ us that day at the ramp, pulled his truck battery, but it wasn't to be.... And he lost all his music settings.....:(

You catching anything fishnsurf? I was out at spanish river bridge last week wasting my time again, saw handful of snook no bait. Im not to familar with the seasons for bait and snook thinking its about that time when nothing bites or just suck. duno which one.

Im dieing to eat some snapper again somone pm me a secret land based spot that holds them or used too It dont matter to me the only place ive had any luck was the condo next to fish city pride dock and between the *******s that live there and the police im not having much luck:mad:
