Jeff Bridges will lead a cast that includes Shia LaBeouf and Zooey Deschanel for Sony Pictures Animation's upcoming CGI movie "Surf's Up," due out in the summer of 2007. The film is an animated feature that goes behind the scenes in the world of competitive penguin surfing. The film profiles up-and-coming surf penguin Cody Maverick (LaBeouf) as he enters his first pro competition. Bridges will voice the character of "the Geek," a washed-up, overweight and cantankerous King Penguin who becomes young Cody's mentor. Deschanel will play Lani, the penguin lifeguard of Pen Gu Island's South Beach. James Woods, Jane Krakowski, Jon Heder, Mario Cantone, Brian Benben and Michael McKean have also been cast.

yeah it COULD be a great movie, but it'll be apredictible plot. Here's my guess
LIttle penguin gets cool sea shell from shredder and learns to surf well (see that in the trailer).
Goes pro and is way overconfident (implied by trailer)
Eats sh1t and loses big contest loses penguin sponsers and all the chick penguins
Salt old dog penguin takes him in and shows him the way (ala North Shore)
Penguin rocks in next contest, gets the girl, the end.
