I'm sitting here watching the cam getting antsy. I can go now but have to be home by 4:45. I'm in South County and thinking of staying local as the wind isn't so strong here now, in fact it's fairly glassy.

As of 10 minutes ago the wind is still slightly offshore here in Southern PBC so go hitt it if you have time.

Surfed a well known prime spot with occ. chest high sets and lot's of thigh to waist/rib sets. gtting pretty crowded when I left.

When I got there I walked down the beach and my LB slipped outta my hand while putting it down to attach my leash. It fell at a 45 deg angle to the skeg and CRACK, my fin box is damaged.....PHUK!!! what to do. Figured sinces its a closed cell foam no biggie just hope I dont break the fin out on a turn and lose a $50 skeg. Happy to reposrt skeg still attached.

Hmmm, not even wet and session off to bad start. Second wave is the odd right but I take it and get a pretty good ride narrowly threading the needle between the wave and a guy who is the deer in headlights. Cool got a good feeling vibe going. Kick out and now I'M the guy in the headlights ans this guy is screaming down the line at me, I'm in waist deep water holding my big LB. I decide inaction is the best action to give him a chance at the shoulder.....nope not enough room, he tries to bail and we get all tangled up and his skeg slices through the arm in my wetsuit. 2hrs later my forearm is still lightly bleeding and throbbing like a bitch......

It was crazy on the inside, had 3 other near miss incidents in 2 hours.....got some great waves though :)

nice story, glad to see it end with a smiley face. I wish I'd read your post earlier. I was lazy and didn't feel like driving so I went out in Lauderdale in the afternoon. It was OK, not as big or fun as you're describing.
