Know of any cool places in the area? Of course on the beach is essential. I might do a little exploring sometime this week. The fancy if the wife comes or the crash pad - I'd be interested in both types.

on the beach this time of year is going to be $$$$

for jupiter you have the jupiter beach resort, and then in stuart there is the marriot (one in stuart and one in jensen) - those are the only two places that jump to mind

Thanks for the info. No doubt, I did some scouting today while driving the coast and came to the conclusion that there sure isn't much. What a drag.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park is between Hobe Sound & Jup. Granted, not right on the beach, but super cheap staying in a tent and it's a real nice place.

ft pierce park allows you to camp out as long as yr "fishing"; i usually throw out an 8 oz weight and play the "let's see what happens" game... nothing yet- and it has been over a yr... i don't live there, but i am up @ 5'ish almost every day. you have to buy the park pass... $80, i believe. jen and i wanted to camp on the bch so bad for our honeymoon... fort desoto in tampa, somewhere in jax, and canaveral were all we could find.
there is also a lot of little efficiencies on A1A on the northernmost part of S Hutchinson- the S end of the jetty... from their you can risk yr life by swimming across the inlet or just drive around to ft pierce park (10 min if you hit red lights). if you like to fish, find a dock with lots of downlights... the snooks are freaks up there- it must be the nuke plant.
have fun
peace, dan

Are you talking about the primitive/youth campgrounds? I've been going to Ft. Pierce State Park for years and that's the only camping facilities I know of there. I wish they had a regular campground! Unless you're talking about camping right by one of the fishing areas, which I've never paid attention to since I don't fish. hmmm...

nope, i mean "fish" for a bit; once they stop patrolling the beach, it is all yrs. you can't get too stupid, but if you keep it cool and somewhat quiet, noone will give you a problem. you do have to have the annual pass- they give you the gate code and you can come and go... we have gone out quite a few times for meteor showers, dawn surf, etc...
i am not saying i am speaking the state park gospel- but i have had no issues and that pass is the best money i ever spent.:)
