Yumm fried snook. I was at my parents over this last week and they have a stocked catfish pond. Nothing better then going out and throwing out a basket and coming back the next day at having fresh catfish.

I caught a channel cat the other week threw him back though if he was a little bigger I would have tried it, how do you fillet them?

I'm not sure if you can eat saltwater cat. i heard they were to boney. The fresh I just take plyers and pull out the barbs/fins on the sides and top. then I just grab them by the head from the top and stick my thumb in one gill and other fingures in the other so you have something to hold on to. Start skinnin from the top to tail. cut off the head and slit the belly. Not very much guts. Then again i like mine smaller they seem to have a better taste to me. Then again my parents grain feed theirs. Alot of people like to eat the tails which I do but to filet just start at the tail with whats left filet like you would any other fish. The top and bottom fins can be pulled off easly by just running a small slit on either side and just pulling them off.
We were out Easter Sunday too.
Only take on was a 10 lb. Bull. Got 2 pics. Was caos, guy who grabed the rod was clueless, Joe had to help and i had to grab the wheel and try to snap pics. Neeed to get our good crew to quit bailing.
Will try to post pictures soon.
