if you ever been in the water waiting to catch a blown out wave with 25 knots of onshore wind and seen a kitesurfer riding by... this is a great chance to learn a bit for about it.

kitesurfing is rapidly growing closer to surfing in more ways than one. many of us are now riding boards that are strapples and in the 5'8 to 6'6 range. Generally we use smaller kites that turn very fast and depower quickly to actually just surf the waves. if you have seen kiters riding by you on down wind runs, what you are seeing is actually pretty cool. we can cruise down the coast for 20-30 miles and find interesting surf spots to play in and then keep cruising. kites are also very good when the outer reefs start to work. no crowds, no jet skis, just unlimited riding.

to keep it less expensive you can actually just use the boards that you already have. you can add a kite for as little as $299 for a used one.

if you want to check it out first hand, we are having our 1 time per year presentation and sale at Adventure Sports Miami www.adventuresportsmiami.com.

we are taking trade in items from surf boards to wetsuits (don't worry we are traishing them... you will get great info on kitesurfing and possibly walk away with lessons and new gear.

Hope i wasn't too off topic, but in FL when the wind is hard out of the east, kiting is a great way to go. if it's already good, surfings better. Just an idea.
